Where will we spend our summer holidays? The question is on everyone’s lips at the moment.
The staycation trend has experienced rapid growth over the last couple of years, but because of corona it’s taken to another level this year. The crisis has been an opportunity for many of us to understand that the public space is also used for relaxation, meeting, playing and sports. The trend this summer will be towards staycation, i.e. holidays at home, and roadtrips, to avoid having to take planes or boats. 78% of Flemish people expect to make trips close to home this summer. [1] Local tourism in Belgium will become the solution for most of us.
The fact that most Belgians are staying home this summer, and definitely out-of-home, the opportunities are endless for brands who want to stay close to their target groups and maintain an always-on strategy.
